Until we learned that materials account for more than 70% of gymnastic rings' carbon footprint.
History shows that the equivalent of gymnastic rings was here as soon as during the Roman Empire era. It was one of the ways gladiators gained strength. One of the world's first tools for exercise becomes our first product to decarbonize almost entirely.
So, should you buy garbage gymnastic rings just because of sustainability credentials?
NO, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF IT...
Printing the logo on the strap of gymnastic rings is a standard in the custom manufacturing of gymnastic rings. You message the manufacturer, send them your new brand logo, they print it and here it is. A new brand of gymnastic rings.
Some brands go as far as changing the strap colour. In this case, you need to buy a higher quantity, but it's worth the innovation. Ok, don't lie. It's far from innovation.
So what else could we do to innovate gymnastic rings?
We found Peter. He is a beginner. And we forced him to practice exercise on gymnastic rings every day, every week, for a whole year. We followed up with a simple question;
PETER, ONE YEAR LATER:
I FEEL STRONGER, BUT...
NO MORE OUTDOOR EXERCISE
I literally stopped exercising outside, although that's one of the reasons I decided to buy gymnastic rings. Imagine spending countless minutes trying to fit the strap into an old-fashioned buckle. Since then, my straps hang only in one place.
SKIN BURN
My skin burned after each contact with straps, particularly when making dips and push-ups.
WASTE OF TIME
Each exercise requires different lengths of straps. Sometimes, I adjust the length when practising just one type of movement, to increase and decrease difficulty. Can you do it with standard, bulky and old buckles? You'll get used to it :(
FROZEN FINGERS
My winter outdoor workout consisted of setting up the buckle and then exercising with frozen fingers. There is just no way to fit the strap into the buckle with gloves on your hands.
BROKEN PALMS
What about the classical wooden ring? Why is it a round shape? My goal is not to be a professional gymnast. I would rather train by holding a more ergonomic handle. Try doing a false grip to perform a muscle up. It breaks my palms!
