We Turned Trash Into Strength: The Story Behind Our Recycled Gym Rings

October 20, 2025

Every year, millions of plastic bottles end up in landfills or the ocean. We looked at that pile of waste and asked a simple question: What if trash could build strength instead of destroying it?

That’s how our Garbage Gymnastic Rings were born — the world’s first performance-grade gymnastic rings made primarily from recycled PET bottles. Designed for athletes who care not only about their training but also about the planet that makes it possible.

Why the World Needs Sustainable Fitness Gear

The fitness industry has a dirty secret: most gym equipment is made from virgin plastic, metal, and synthetic materials that require massive energy to produce — and almost never get recycled.
We wanted to flip that script.

At MARMATI, our mission is simple — decarbonize fitness.
That means creating equipment that challenges your body while respecting the Earth. Because true strength should never come at the planet’s expense.

From Waste to Workout: The Making of the Garbage Rings

We start with discarded PET bottles — the same kind used for water or soft drinks. They’re collected, shredded, melted, and reborn as ultra-strong recycled fibers.
Those fibers become our signature straps, made from 91% recycled PET and 9% virgin material — a precise blend that gives the yarn the extra strength and elasticity needed for demanding workouts.

Then we added a clever twist:
a new adjustable strap ending that makes it easier to pull, hang, and fine-tune your setup anywhere. You can even hang it by the end for compact storage — a small design detail that makes a big difference during training.

Every set also includes a QR code on the strap — scan it, and you’ll enter a world of tutorials, Tabata workouts, and exclusive community content designed to help you get the most from your rings.

Strength That Doesn’t Compromise

When people hear “recycled,” they often think weaker. But our rings prove the opposite.
The recycled PET material — strengthened with just the right touch of virgin fiber — offers incredible tensile strength and resistance to stretching.
Each strap has been tested under extreme loads, surviving everything from muscle-ups to planches to CrossFit-style ring transitions.

You get a lightweight, portable training tool that performs like a pro — while saving the planet from more waste.

Why We Call Them Garbage Rings (and Why That’s the Point)

Yes, we could’ve called them “Eco Rings” or “Sustainable Straps.”
But we wanted a name that makes people look twice.
Because real sustainability isn’t about greenwashing — it’s about transforming garbage into greatness.

When you train with Garbage Rings, you’re not just building muscle.
You’re turning trash into strength — physically and symbolically.
